What I am doing now

You are most likely here because you enjoy crafting. I have been reading up on some of the WoW issues regarding gold making, which make me realize that WoW is not the game for me.

If you want to play a game where gathering and crafting is the cornerstone of the economy, and are not faint of heart, I recommend EVE Online. EVE even has releases purely to support industry. You can play for free if you are good enough manufacturer or trader.

Be the builder in a villainous world.

Crimson Halls open tomorrow.

Wow.com reminds us that crimson halls open tomorrow.
Opportunity plus instinct equals profit. (apparently Ferengi acquisition rule #9)
Want to know how?

As always when there is new content coming, people get new loot, and want to chant/gem/respec (you get the picture).  Part time farmers go off raiding, raiders come back, and alts go on holiday.

So, if you think you know what raiders want, and you think it's cheap, stock up now.  Of course if every goblin does this, there will be a glut (think back to the saronite/titanium transmute from patch 3.3).

On my server, I have seen the cost of raw epic gems dropping lately, with the supply steadily increasing.  Personally I will sink a portion of my gold reserves in uncut gems, with an eye to selling cut gems starting Friday night.
You may see other options.
